Butterscotch Bars

Pop quiz time!  What is butterscotch? 

A) A combination of brown sugar and butter
B) One of Susan's favorite things on this earth
C) Heaven
D) All of the above


If you answered D, you are correct.  And if you, like Susan and Corinne, are a butterscotch fan, you will surely love our Butterscotch Bars.  

With a tender center and a crisp crust, our Butterscotch Bars are a rich bar cookie made with lots of butter and brown sugar.  And they are loaded to the brim with a combination of butterscotch and white chocolate chips.  A tiny bit salty and buttery sweet, we dare you to have only one.

We love not only the bars themselves, but their sweet (pun intended) presentation.  Each custom-ordered set contains one dozen individually wrapped 3x3" bars in a bag with our logo and signature pink bow.

Giveaway Extended

We have been hearing that some people have had trouble commenting on our blog (sorry!) to officially enter our Cupcake Giveaway.  So we have good news:  we will be extending the entry deadline one week to give some more locals a chance to win some free How Sweet It Is cupcakes!

To clarify, here's what you need to do to enter:

  • Follow us on either Twitter or Instagram if you have those services (@HowSweetItIsUT on either program)
  • Leave a comment telling us you've done those things.  It can be on this post, the original Giveaway post, or on our Facebook page or status.

Snickerdoodle Cupcakes

Corinne and I think it's about time to post our Snickerdoodle Cupcakes on the blog.  They have been one of our top sellers since their inception, and, well, we think they are just too darn cute (and delicious!) to keep them to ourselves any longer.

A longtime favorite with some of our customers/tasters, our Snickerdoodle Cupcake starts off with our fluffy cinnamon sugar cake.  It's buttery, sweet, and a bit spicy-- just like its namesake cookie.  Then we top it with our cookie dough frosting, an icing we made to have the same taste and texture as cookie dough.  (A cookie dough junkie myself, this is one of my favorite frostings we make.)  We sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar, and top it with a freshly baked mini Snickerdoodle cookie.

Some people eat the cookie first, others eat it as is, but all will agree... this is the best of both the cupcake and cookie worlds!

A Rewarding Experience

How Sweet It Is is pleased to announce the arrival of our new rewards cards!  With the purchase of five dozen regular-sized cupcakes, you will get the sixth dozen free!  This free dozen can be applied to any cupcake flavor, regardless of price, and our punch card never expires!  As long as we are in business, we are happy to honor them.  And, of course, we will apply any Suzy Sweet Tooth punch cards that you may have.  Happy cupcake eating!

Cupcake Giveaway

We have some exciting news to announce!  At the end of this month we'll be giving away cupcake sampler trays to local businesses comprised of an assortment of our most popular flavors.  And we'll be giving away a dozen to one lucky reader!  

To win a dozen full-sized assorted How Sweet It Is cupcakes, all you have to do is follow a few simple steps (and be in Provo/Orem that weekend to arrange a pick-up):

Lemon Raspberry Cupcakes

No one loves winter more than I do. The snow, getting all bundled up... I love it! But there are days when even I miss summer, especially the fresh fruits. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a slight obsession with raspberries, and it is with that in mind that we bring to you a little taste of the summer to help you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, even if it is freezing outside!

Our Lemon Raspberry Cupcake starts with the same lemon cake from our Double Lemon Cupcake, but laced with a swirl of raspberry filling. We created a new raspberry lemon cream cheese icing for the frosting, and perched atop this ode to summertime is a fresh raspberry*, a happy reminder of things to come.
